What do you get if you have 10 days, 15 young people, 4 cameras and 1 TV studio?

ZoomTV is an hour long youth led, magazine style show broadcasting for 5 days from the 18th – 22nd August. Thanks to the Arts Council of Wales and the Atrium, Zoom have been able to achieve the impossible and get ZoomTV up and running!

In just the first two days of the project, the young people have already shot and edited a trailer (which goes live on Zoomcymru.com today) and are working their way through getting the 5 programmes ready to go live on Monday. Each programme will have various items including the latest fashion, music reviews and some which will cover more serious news & current affairs.

Each young person has been allocated a specific role and will receiving training from people working in the industry, like Iola Protheroe, a freelance floor manager who regularly works on BBC news and Lewis Vaughan Jones a reporter from ITV Wales.

One of the ZoomTV team is Dale Jenkins, 16, from Bridgend, he says "I’ve had a great time over the past few days, my confidence has increased already and I’ve made lots of new friends… I can’t wait to start shooting next week, it will be an experience I’ll never forget"

There’s a lot left to do, from opening titles & ‘stings’, to learning what it takes run a state of the art television studio but all the participants are eager, excited and full of enthusiasm. The results of their efforts will be available to watch daily on www.zoomcymru.com from 4pm onwards.

And who knows, we may well be discovering tomorrow’s talent, today!
